Please read all of the rules prior to entering the game. If you have any question about the rules, please contact the mods via PM or resortmods @ gmail.com. Be sure to also look over the FAQ as well.

General Rules
  • Please be respectful to other players and the mods at all times. Please try to work out any drama in a way that is mature and reasonable. Do not bring drama between players and/or mods into the game.

  • The Last Resort is an adult roleplaying game. Therefore, it can contain adult content, and all players must be eighteen years old or above.

  • Characters must remain as in-character as possible at all times. As your character develops, make sure their progression is believable and justifiable. Characters may grow and change, but in a way that is realistic.

  • Characters of all sexualities are allowed in this RP. Characters whose sexualities have been established in their canon should reflect that aspect as they would any other.

  • Godmoding is not allowed.

  • Canon puncturing is not allowed in the game.

  • Be sure to obey the rules of the English language to the best of your ability. Posts should be in third person, past or present tense. More information on how to post can be found in the posting requirements.

  • All work must be your own. Plagiarism will be considered grounds for removal from the game. If you are confused as to what constitutes plagiarism, please contact a mods and we will be happy to help you.

  • Breaking any of the rules will result in warnings from the mods and, if the problem persists, eventual removal from the game.

Applications and Characters
  • Players are only allowed one character application to start off with. To apply for another character, you must meet the activity requirements with your current character(s). You must wait 30 days between your first application and your second. Between the second and third, you must wait 60 days. For the fourth and every character after that, you must wait 90 days.

  • If you are asked to make changes to your application, you have a week to do so, at which point your application will be rejected. You may ask for an extension if necessary, and, if rejected, you may still reapply for the character.

  • Upon acceptance into the game, you have two weeks to post your character's intro post in the RP community. If it's been two weeks and you haven't posted or contacted the mods, your character will be dropped.

  • The Last Resort allows characters from these fandoms: movies, television, plays/musicals, books, comic books, video games, and non-anime cartoon animation (e.g. Disney and Pixar). No anime characters are allowed, and no original, real person, fictionalized representations of real person characters, or characters from active religions will be accepted. Only canon characters are allowed in the Last Resort.

  • The Last Resort only allows human and humanoid characters. This includes humans, humans who may not look entirely human (e.g. mutants), and human-like non-humans (e.g. aliens, elves, giants of a reasonable size, and halflings). Your character must have at least one photographic icon of a person in the userpics, or a picture in the profile. The rest of the icons may come from drawings (like comic books or cartoons).

  • Magic/super-powers/special abilities are now permitted at The Last Resort. Whereas in the original incarnation at LiveJournal, characters would find themselves stripped of such abilities upon arrival to the island, this is no longer the case.

  • Dropping is allowed. More information may be found here in the FAQ.

Plotting
  • Players are encouraged to create plots for their characters, but please be sure to get mod approval for any plots that would affect the game as a whole (damage to property, finding something or someplace new, etc). Also, you must contact and get the approval of the other players involved in the plot.

  • Characters can die, but character death must be approved by the mods; other players who would be affected by the death must be contacted as well. Death does not necessarily prevent another player from applying for the character, however; if you would like to permanently take your character out of play, please contact the mods detailing why.

  • Characters may also become pregnant, but this requires mod approval as well. Be sure to see the FAQ for more information about pregnancies.

  • In rare cases, a character's canonical sexuality can be changed, with mod approval. More information on this is available in the FAQ.
